QR Codes, Linqtree, & HIPAA Forms!

Hey POWR users!

I’m Brent, a Senior Product Engineer at POWR! Welcome to POWR Community - this is a space for you to share your experiences with POWR apps, tell us what you like and what could be improved, and learn about new features and tricks.

I’ll also be jumping in here regularly to share cool new features and hidden gems within our apps.

QR Codes are automatically generated for every POWR app

Part of my goals for the year has been to look at different ways that POWR can leverage what we are good at to provide solutions for users outside of their website. I still have a handful of freelance clients who I use POWR with which gives me a lot of use cases to consider.

I have come across several cases where a client would want to collect information or donations offline where I thought POWR could help. One lesser-known feature in POWR is that every app has its own view page that can be used on its own without needing to be embedded on a website. You can access this from the Publish screen in your apps. After pressing “Publish,” select “Share App” in the left menu, and you will see this page:

You can send people directly to that link in order for them to access your app, but we also added an option to access that link using a QR Code that we automatically generate for you.

So why would you want to do that? Let me give you two examples.

In the first example, say you are running an in-person seminar, event, or class. You are projecting your presentation to the group, and at the end of the session, you would like to collect feedback. Simple - create a feedback form, publish it, download the QR code, and add it to your final slide. Everyone in the audience can instantly access your form on their phone and give you feedback right there in real time!

In the second situation, let’s consider you are sitting at a table at a public event like a farmer’s market, an author’s meet and greet, or even a musician busking on the street. You would like to collect online payments or donations, but you don’t want to deal with a point-of-sale system. POWR can help. Create a Payment Button app, connect your Stripe and/or PayPal accounts, publish, and download the QR Code. Now, just print that out and place it on your table or at the foot of your stage, and allow your visitors or audience to contribute to your business or cause!

Introducing POWR Linqtree App

I started my career as a freelance web designer mostly working with musicians, artists, authors, and other creative folks. These areas are still close to my heart, and I’ve noticed a trend where there are so many platforms that one needs to be on to stay relevant to your audience that sometimes you may not have the bandwidth to maintain all of them AND a website. Services like Linktree and Link-in-Bio have swooped in to fill that space and be the single link on your Instagram profile.

While researching these services and speaking to friends and clients, I noticed that there are a lot of people who are very unhappy with what they provide. I spent a little time modifying some of our apps to create our own Linqtree app (https://powr.io/plugins/linqtree/standalone) that we are now using as our own bio link on Instagram:

This can be used in a number of different scenarios. Obviously, you can put links to all of your social media profiles, website, support center, blog, etc, but a less obvious solution is as an event calendar for a band, author, or comedian. Simply add a new element for each show with a direct link to wherever one can purchase tickets for each event. Combine this with the QR code function to easily share your links with visitors to a real-world event!

Another Exciting New Addition to POWR: HIPAA Forms!

As a final product announcement, I’m super proud of the work that the team and I did in making a brand new version of our FormBuilder app that is 100% secure and HIPAA compliant! The new POWR HIPAA Form (Free Hipaa Form App for Website: The Best Rated Hipaa Form App for 2024 - POWR.io) is designed to be a quick, efficient, and more affordable way to securely collect patient information.

Designed for smaller practices like independent chiropractors, physical therapists, acupuncturists, and dieticians who may not be using compliant forms due to cost, our new solution provides the ease of POWR’s standalone editor with an affordable price tag. Our solution includes email notifications, custom autoresponders, and secure file uploads. It is easy for your team to build and update your forms all on your own without needing a web developer. Give it a try today!

Due to its secure nature, HIPAA Forms live outside of our standard suite of apps. Anyone can build a HIPAA Form with all features for free, but in order to publish or embed the app, you will need to purchase a subscription or reach out to our support team for a trial (https://help.powr.io/).

We’re always looking for feedback, so let us know what you think!
